Axolotl

-
Size: around 10 inches
-
Lifespan: 10 years
-
Tank: 10 to 20 gallons, make sure the tank has a like because axolotls sometimes jump out of their tank
-
Substrate: the best substrate is aquarium-safe sand so it doesn’t lead to impaction
-
Decorations: hide and aquarium furniture
-
Heat: °60°F to 70°F, do not use an additional heat source unless its colder than 60°F
-
Nocturnal and do not need UV bulb, just room lighting is enough
-
Humidity: 100% because they’re underwater
-
Diet: carnivorous and insectivorous. Food: live nightcrawlers or frozen bloodworms. Treats: cooked shrimp, beef pieces, and chicken pieces
-
Feeding: feed them every 2 to 3 days
-
Water: fill the tank more than 3 quarters full of water that has been conditioned to remove the chlorine and chloramines from it. Make sure there is no water flow in the water because this will stress them out and cause them to stop eating. Make sure they have a good filter that doesn’t cause a flow current and that they get regular water changes. Before adding axolotl to the tank, let the filter run for a few weeks prior. Don’t keep fish in the tank with axolotls.
