Leopard Gecko
-
Size: 7-10 inches
-
Lifespan: 15-20 years
-
Tank: 10 gallons but 20 gallons would be better
-
Substrate: paper towels for easy cleanup, but they don’t need much humidity so they don’t need much of a substrate. You probably shouldn’t use sand so they don’t become impacted.
-
Decorations: hide, humid hide (a hide with moist moss or moist paper towel in it to assist with shedding), food dish, water dish,
-
Heat: hot side should be 88-90°F and around 73°F on the cold side, make sure they have a warm hide and a cool hide, I used a warm mat underneath the warm hide
-
Nocturnal and need UV bulb
-
Humidity: 10%-30%
-
Diet: insectivorous, so they eat mealworms, crickets, dubia roaches, superworms, etc.
-
Feeding: feed babies everyday and feed adults every other day
-
They choose a specific corner that they always defecate in so it makes for easy cleanup. So I just tear a paper towel to fit perfectly in the corner of the enclosure so that when I feed my leopard gecko, I just change the paper towel in the corner rather than the entire substrate.
