This is a page to give you herping tips:
If you want to find where invasive species live in Florida, use ivegot1.org to get an idea of what general area they’ll be in.
Things that are good to bring on a herping trip:
-
Snake hook
-
Net
-
A container to keep them in (with air holes)
-
A flashlight
Could also bring:
-
A backpack
-
Water
-
Snacks
-
Gloves
Herping Advice:
-
Plan which areas you’re going to go herping in, such as which desert or forest, and what part of the desert or forest.
-
Check when the sun sets so you know when you should be out there.
-
Research what animals live in the area so you know what you’re looking for.
-
Once you know what animals are in the area, research the animals' behaviors, whether they’re nocturnal, diurnal, or crepuscular, and where they like to spend their time. For example, if you were herping for green basilisks you would find that they’re semiaquatic and diurnal so you would search around water banks in the forest during the day, and research how aggressive or docile they are.

If you’re looking to herp for invasive species in Florida, then I recommend using ivegot1.org because it shows you where in Florida there have been sightings of specific invasive species, so it will give you a good idea of where to go to look for them.
